Neuromodulators are a type of purified protein called botulinum toxin, which is produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. When injected into muscles, it temporarily blocks nerve signals that cause muscle contractions, resulting in a reduction in muscle activity.
This procedure works by binding to nerve endings at the site of injection and blocking the release of a chemical called acetylcholine, which is responsible for transmitting nerve impulses to the muscles. When acetylcholine is blocked, the affected muscle is temporarily paralyzed, which can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines caused by repetitive muscle movements.
Neuromodulator injections are commonly used to treat:

- Between the eyebrows
- Crow’s feet around the eyes

It is also used to treat a variety of medical conditions, such as migraines, excessive sweating, and muscle spasms.
